Nueva Street Gallery
507 Nueva Street
Building 22
San Antonio, TX 78205

We're in the heart of the art of San Antonio- 507 E. Nueva Street- in La Villita.  La Villita is the Historic Arts Village right next to the Riverwalk.  If you're coming from the Riverwalk, walk up the steps of Arneson River Theater's seating and you arrive in La Villita... then keep walking forward until you see the gallery on your right, between Little Studio Gallery and Found. Another entrance is on Nueva Street and another on Plaza National.

Nueva Street Gallery represents the work of 19 artists. Please look around our website and get acquainted with the artists and their work. We look forward to your visit!

Nueva Street Gallery is also the painting studio of Susan Carlin, where she paints portraits, still life and landscapes, and offers individual instruction to other artists.  For more information about reserving a day, or half day, of painting instruction, click here or email susan@susancarlin.com .

Nueva Street Gallery was founded and owned for its first 20 years by artist Richard Conn, whose work remains available through the gallery.  Mr. Conn's distinctive work includes many of the official posters of Fiesta, JazzSAlive and other San Antonio events.  Some of the artists now represented by Nueva Street Gallery have had continuous representation since its opening.

The building was a home built in 1891 and has twelve-foot ceilings and a clerestory skylight in the center of its metal roof.  This house was built by A.H. Shafer after he purchased the properly in 1888. It was advertised in the early 1900s as a "nicely furnished apartment with hot and cold running water, electric lights and gas."

It went through a period of time as a candy factory, then since the sixties found its purpose as gallery and studio for a sequence of artists. We're happy to take our place in history here.
